HTC has launched its VR headset Vive in South Korea, the company announced.
The company made the announcement at G-Star 2016, an international game show taking place in Busan, South Korea. HTC said it is the first in the Korean market to offer a “whole VR system” for them to use.
The Taiwanese tech firm offers a head mounted display, wireless controllers, and room-scale movement for 1.25 million won ($1,000).
It will be available online via local distributing partner JCHyun System and major offline stores. It is also available in local online shopping stores Auction and GMarket. By the end of the year, it will be available in over 30 offline stores, HTC said.
HTC also signed an MOU with the city of Busan with the goal to expand the VR ecosystem in South Korea. The firm will offer technological support mentoring for firms in the country who wish to launch VR related services and products.
