Is Android’s Unique Unlocking & Login Feature Secure?

Tech Crunch comes in with a very interesting angle about the unique unlocking method for Android. We know that in Android, instead of choosing a typical number based passcode, an Android user can ‘draw’ a design to any of the 9 pre-arranged dots. Though having the nine-dot system allows for unique combinations and hard to guess passcodes, there is one overlooked drawback. Fingerprints.

As in smudges on the touchscreen. As in a clear trail that shows any potential thief your clever nine-dot design. It could be that we’re overreacting to the unlock method but anyone who’s ever played with a touchscreen device knows that they’ll leave a mark. As cool as this unlock method is, including the option for the boring yawn old method would be the smart move.
