Thanks to its latest update, Amazon Echo can fill you in on your local news through its Flash Briefing feature. Available in a number of metropolitan areas, local news is now available courtesy of various NBC local news stations.
Says Amazon:
You can now get local news for a dozen major metropolitan areas as part of your Flash Briefing. NBC local news stations offer stories from the Bay Area, New York, Chicago, and more.
You can add news from these NBC feeds to your Flash Briefing by heading to the Settings portion of your Alexa app. This is in addition to sources such as NPR and CNN. F
On a lighter note, to celebrate the release of Disney’s Finding Dory, Echo can now wake up to the voice of Crush the turtle from the Finding Nemo and the new sequel. You can set the Crush alarm tone from the Finding Dory option in the Timers and Alarms portion of the Alexa app.
