ASUS ZenFone Max

ASUS’ latest model in the Indian market is the ZenFone Max, which offers a massive 5000 mAh battery. The budget handset is currently on pre-order at Flipkart for ₹9,999, with a launch date of January 14.

The phone features a 5.5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot, 13MP camera at the back, 5MP front shooter, and LTE connectivity. On the software front, you’ll get Zen UI 2.0 running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Standard fare for its price, but the 5000 mAh battery will be a differentiator in this segment.

The ZenFone Max isn’t the first phone with a large battery to go on sale in the country, as we’ve also seen the Gionee Marathon M5, which has two 3010 mAh batteries cobbled together, and the Lenovo Vibe P1, which has a 4900 mAh battery, make their debut in recent weeks. However, these products are priced a segment above at ₹15,000 ($225).
