The phonebook-on-steroids app company, Truecaller, has announced a partnership with Intex Technologies, one of the top handset makers in India, to replace the native phone dialer with the Truecaller experience. Launched in 2009, Truecaller has managed to reach a user base of 100 million in India.
The new Intex Aqua Young devices will now incorporate the Truecaller and Truedialer applications. Priced at ₹5,090 ($78), the handsets are already available across the country. With the integration, Intex Aqua Young users will be able to identify more than 2 billion numbers on incoming and outgoing calls, block unwanted calls or hidden numbers, as well as protect themselves from known spammers with a community-built database.
