Xiaomi is getting closer to the unveil of its upcoming flagship, the Mi 5. In a post on Weibo, co-founder Li Wanqiang shared that the device is in mass production, with an official launch occurring after the Chinese New Year, which falls on February 8.

The executive also confirmed long-standing rumors that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 820, which makes Xiaomi the second vendor — after LeTV — to offer Qualcomm’s latest SoC commercially.

Latest leaks suggest that the Mi 5 will feature a metal body with a home button at the front that houses a fingerprint scanner. The phone is likely to feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB internal storage, 16MP camera at the back, 13MP front shooter, and a 3600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech.
