Update: And for whatever reason the apps are no longer listed in Google Play.
Google has brought two more of its own apps to Google Play, this time being Contacts and Phone. We’ve seen Google release a number of its apps, like Google Calendar, to the Play Store for easier updating, and then eventually opening it up to other phones and tablets as well. To start, these two apps will only work on Nexus, Google Play Edition and Android One devices that are running Marshmallow.
While not everyone benefits from this right now, it’s still great to see Google push more apps to Google Play for easier updating. If you are running a supported device, you can hit the links below to see the apps in Google Play. We expect that support will expand later after this first release.
