Kyocera has announced the DIGNO rafre, the first hand soap washable smartphone. That’s right, if you get your phone dirty, you can simply lather up some hand soap, scrub it a little and get it clean again. To make this work, Kyocera has added hot water resistance to the DIGNO rafre, in addition to resistance against shock, water and dust. The back of the phone is coated with a scratch-healing material that allows minor abrasions to heal on their own to keep your phone looking new.

As for specs, Kyocera has packed a 5-inch TFT LCD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and included a microSD slot for expansion if needed. The DIGNO rafre will run Android 5.1 out of the box, and be powered by a 3000mAh battery. On the front you’ll find a 2MP shooter, while the rear has a 13MP camera. It will be available in Coral Pink, Cashmere White and Marine Navy and will be available in Japan only.
