Stylus-toting handset will join the GS6 edge+ in Europe early next year, according to a new report confirmed by Android Central.

Ever since the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ launched together in the U.S., it’s been a sad reality that only the Galaxy S6 edge+ was available over in Europe. But according to a new report from Gadgette, the Note 5 will finally be available to European buyers who’ve held out for the flat stylus-toting model. Android Central has confirmed with our own sources that this is indeed the case, with sales commencing in early 2016 in European markets.

The precise reasoning behind holding back the Note 5 and offering just the GS6 edge+ in Europe remains unknown, as most other major markets had access to both options and Samsung aggressively marketed both phones together.

And as we close in on the end of 2015, Samsung has yet to make any official announcement on the launch of the Note 5 in Europe. So we’ll have to see just how big of a deal it makes of the situation when it does so.

It’s worth noting, however, that Samsung has always held the door open for a European Note 5 launch. The official line at the time of announcement merely stated that there were “no plans” to bring the device to Europe in 2015.
