With the announce of the One A9, HTC is trying to make a splash with a different type of device — a smaller screen, lighter software and a few features it hasn’t offered before. But one of the biggest announcements, at least from an Android enthusiast point of view, was the commitment to amazingly fast software updates.
Did you hear that? The Unlocked A9 will receive every Google SW update within 15 days of Nexus devices! #BeBrilliant

HTC says that the unlocked version of the A9 will receive software updates within 15 days of when they’re pushed to Nexus devices, which if it holds up would be quite an amazing feat. Of course the A9 is already the first non-Nexus phone to be shipping with Marshmallow on-board as well.
Now we don’t know how long this commitment will hold, but we’re certainly excited that HTC is putting its foot down on getting updates out the door quickly.
