Google Play Store

The recently-teased redesign of the Google Play Store sure looks nice, and now it’s starting to arrive on devices. The new design will immediately catch your eye as it’s a pretty sizable departure from the last design, with prominent tabs in the main interface for “Apps & Games” and then “Entertainment.”

Entertainment of course has sub-sections for Movies & TV, Music, Books and Newsstand, while the Apps & Games tab has separate sections for top charts, games, categories, family and editors’ choice. The new pill-shaped buttons are a theme throughout the new app, used in place of the scrolling tabs in use before.

The Play Store organically hit our device tonight, so you should see it hitting your own phone soon — just be patient, because it could take a while considering how slowly these things tend to roll out. If you have the update already, how do you like it? We’d love to see what you have to say in the comments!
