At its press event in New York, Verizon and Motorola have officially introduced the Droid Turbo 2 and its shatterproof display. Featuring a 5.4-inch display, Motorola is guaranteeing the screen not to crack or shatter thanks to Moto Shatter Shield. The screen features a dual touch layer with redundancy to survive drops — the interior lens that won’t shatter, and the exterior lens to prevent scratches.
The Droid Turbo 2 features 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, with the ability to add a microSD card for additional storage if needed. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, and to get you through the day, Motorola has packed a 3760mAh battery inside which can provide up to 48 hours of battery life. As for the cameras, on the rear Motorola has packed a 21MP shooter on the rear, with a 5MP lens sitting on the front. With the Turbocharger, you’ll be able to grab an additional 13 hours of battery life by just charging for 15 minutes.
Motorola wants you to be able to make the Turbo 2 truly your own, so this time around you will be able to use Moto Maker to customize it to your liking. To sweeten the deal a little more, Verizon and Motorola will allow owners of the 64GB Droid Turbo 2 to do a one-time color refresh if you decide that you want to try a new color configuration.
Be sure to stay tuned for additional information about the Droid Turbo 2 as it becomes available.
