The team at iFixit has taken the time to tear down both the new Chromecast and Chromecast Audio to give us a look at what’s inside. Often times we only get to admire the beauty of our gadgets from the outside, but when we get to see what makes it work the way it does, it can be fun. The new Chromecasts don’t have a whole lot going on inside, there is just a single board that has a few chips on it.

The iFixit team did discover a decent amount of thermal paste inside, which should help keep the dongle running at a cooler temp. Also noted, the HDMI cable is removable from the inside which doesn’t do an end user much good. Either way, if you want to see everything inside the new Chromecast, hit the link below for all the details.
