President of HTC America, Jason Mackenzie, has taken to Twitter this afternoon to announce that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be coming to a slew of HTC smartphones, with the M8 and M9 to receive the update by the end of the year. In all, Mackenzie notes that the sweet treat will be hitting 12 devices, including the following:
- One M9
- One M8
- One M9+
- One E9+
- One E9
- One ME
- One E8
- One M8 EYE
- Butterfly 3
- Desire 826
- Desire 820
- Desire 816
Overall, it looks like if you have a recent HTC smartphone, you should be seeing Marshmallow on your device at some point. That being said, holdups do happen, and we’ll have to wait till the end of the year to see if HTC hits their goal. Finally, we’re expecting to see one more, unannounced HTC smartphone sporting Android 6.0 after the company’s October 20 event later this month, so keep it locked to Android Central for more.
