Samsung HQ

Samsung has opened up a new headquarters right where the original company campus was first constructed more than 30 years ago at Silicon Valley. This new building will house Samsung semiconductor research and development efforts, as well as bolstering innovation and advanced tech by bringing more than 700 employees together onto a single, open-plan campus.

The 1.1 million square-foot building will house research dedicated to semiconductors, LED technologies, displays, as well as sales, marketing and other teams. Since this is 2015 and companies are constantly looking at ways to improve the environment for their staff, Samsung has opted for gardens with an open-air space actually within the building itself. It’s a nice-looking HQ, that’s for sure.

Among those who attended the opening ceremony included both current San Jose mayor Sam Liccardo alongside his predecessor Chuck Reed. Samsung donated $200,000 to both the Family Giving Tree and Second Harvest Food Bank, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities.
