Silent Circle has released the Blackphone 2, a secure and privacy-friendly smartphone. The company is targeting those who value their personal information and enjoy an experience that better safeguards their stuff against external parties. With the second generation Blackphone, you’ll be able to fine tune exactly what apps and services share from your handset.
The Blackphone 2 was originally unveiled back in July. Encryption is enabled from the get-go, and Silent Circle has pledged to address vulnerabilities and bugs within 72 hours of discovery. There’s also Silent OS, the custom Android operating system that powers the Blackphone 2.
As for specifications, we’re looking at a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), 13MP BSI camera (with 5MP selfie shooter), a 3,060mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, and finally LTE connectivity.
All-in-all, it’s not a bad solution for those who have $799 to part with. Of course, if BlackBerry is more your thing when it comes to security, you may want to hold off for the Priv smartphone.
