Samsung has rather chosen an unusual day (iPhone day!) but the company today announced its latest flagship phone for the Indian market. The Galaxy Note8 that has been on pre-registration will finally be available from September 21 to early buyers.
The Galaxy Note8 is essentially the Galaxy S8 with a dual camera setup at the back. The device is IP68 certified, which means it is water and dust resistant and packs in two OIS-enabled 12 megapixel cameras at the back with a wide-angle and a telephoto lens that allows to take shots with bokeh effect. The dual camera mode takes two pictures simultaneously – one wide-angle and another telephoto and allows to edit the background blur during or after you’ve clicked a picture. The front has an 8 megapixel sensor for selfies.
On the hardware side, the Android Nougat running phone features a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440) display, quad-core 10nm Exynos processor, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64/128/256GB internal storage, 3300mAh battery, NFC, MST, microSD card slot and dual SIM support. The phone also boasts an improved S Pen support, fast wireless charging, iris and fingerprint scanning, Bixby and DeX support.
The phone will retail from Rs. 67,900 and users will get Samsung DeX for free for limited time.
