Andando verso il 70 ° Primetime Emmy Awards, sembrava una battaglia tra due titani televisivi. In un angolo è stato istituito TV powerhouse HBO, che è andato in serata con 29 nomination per l’Emmy mostra come Westworld, la Silicon Valley, Game of Thrones, e Insicuro. In altri è stato Netflix, con ben 37 totale nomination, grazie a mostrare come Black Mirror, le Cose più strane, BAGLIORE, e La Corona. Ma mentre HBO, infine, ha portato a casa l’onore top per Serie drammatica per Game of Thrones, per gran parte della serata sembrava un altro giocatore che ha avuto la maggior parte della quantità di moto: Amazon.
La serata è iniziata con Amazon, vincendo quattro delle prime cinque premi, ha presentato, per il periodo commedia Meravigliosa Signora Maisel. Nel corso della serata, la serie ha vinto cinque diverse categorie, tra cui la scrittura e la regia premi per il creatore della serie di Amy Sherman-Palladino, e di agire premi per le serie star Rachel Brosnahan e Alex Borstein. Si è conclusa la serata portando a casa Outstanding Comedy Series, l’alto onore di notte, per una serie comedy.
Netflix non rimanere in silenzio per lungo tempo, tuttavia, con il servizio di prelievo di un certo numero di premi. Jeff Daniels e Merritt Wever ha vinto agire premi per il loro lavoro di Scott Frank Occidentale Atea, William Bridges e Charlie Brooker ha vinto miglior sceneggiatura per una Serie Limitata o Film per la puntata di Black Mirror USS Callister, e l’attrice Regina King ha vinto per la sua interpretazione nella serie di Sette Secondi. La Corona vinto due premi oscar — miglior Attrice protagonista in un film Drammatico per Claire Foy e Eccezionale la Regia di Stephen Daldry — ma di Netflix, vince, alla fine, in modo frammentario. Si parlò per la potenza della strategia dell’azienda di produzione di un’immensa quantità di contenuti. Anche quando nessun singolo spettacolo è diventato un colosso nella sua propria destra, Netflix ancora collezionato un discreto numero di vittorie.
Ryan Murphy L’Assassinio di Gianni Versace: American Crime Story ha portato a casa diversi premi, come ha fatto l’FX dramma spionaggio Americani, l’ultimo dei quali sembrava pronta a portare a casa l’onore top della Serie drammatica. Ma, invece, HBO Game of Thrones è venuto con la sorpresa vincere, prendendo il primo premio, anche se aveva solo guadagnato un altro premio nel corso della serata: lo straordinario Attore non protagonista in una Serie drammatica per Peter Dinklage.
