Microsoft Corporation, Microsoft survived. The root cause of this near disaster? Microsoft’s attempt to kill off Netscape, Internet Explorer’s web browser rival. That was then. This is now. This week Microsoft announced it was abandoning its inhouse, proprietary web browser: Edge.
