LG’s latest mid-ranger offers similar features to its higher-end smartphones
Prior to Mobile World Congress kicking off in Barcelona LG had pretty much shown its hand with a bunch of pre-announcements. As the show got underway, another became official with the latest F-Series device, the F70.
Unlike the G-Series devices like the G2 and G2 Pro, the F70 has a more ‘traditional’ look with the power and volume buttons on the sides. There’s also no on-screen buttons, it continues LG’s previous method of a physical home button with capacitive keys either side. But, this is still very recognizable as a current LG device.
The hardware is very much mid-range, with a 4.5-inch WVGA display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 5MP rear camera. Software is the latest and greatest with Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the same LG custom interface seen elsewhere. That’s either a good or bad thing, depending on your own personal take. The 2440mAh battery is good news too, particularly considering the LTE capabilities of the F70.
LG is also giving the F70 the same Quickwindow case – and the L-Series devices too for that matter – as we’ve seen previously on the G2. It works in the same way too, showing a variety of clock faces when you close the cover.
All in all, the F70 is a pretty nice mid-range device, and while there was no indication of price it could do well if it hits the right point.
