HTC has reversed its decision regarding the launch of the HTC 10 launch in India, with the vendor now listing the Snapdragon 820 variant on its official website. Earlier this week, it was the Snapdragon 652-based HTC 10 Lifestyle that was listed in its place, which led to consternation among the local audience over the Taiwanese vendor’s decision to not bring its “true flagship” to the country.

HTC said yesterday that it will re-evaluate its plans, and has now confirmed that the HTC 10 will indeed make its way to India. In an emailed statement, Faisal Siddiqui, President, South Asia and India at HTC, said:

We are pleased to announce that global flagship HTC 10 is coming soon to India. Stay tuned for the announcement and the availability date.

The Indian version will feature the Snapdragon 820 SoC with four Kryo cores clocked up to 2.2GHz, as well as 4GB of RAM and USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C. With the flagship set to make its way in India, HTC is better positioned to take on the likes of Galaxy S7 in the country. However, with the Galaxy S7 already starting to see discounts, it remains to be seen how HTC prices its flagship in India.
