LG has launched the K7 and K10 in India. The budget phones are the South Korean vendor’s latest bid to increase its market share in the country, and will be the first LG phones to be assembled locally. Both phones offer LTE connectivity, and come with VoLTE and VoWi-Fi as well. The K7 will retail for ₹9,500, and the K10 for ₹13,500.
The K7 comes with a 5.0-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 SoC, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD slot, 5MP rear and front cameras, and a 2125mAh battery.
As for the K10, the phone offers a 5.3-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot, 13MP camera at the back and a 5MP front shooter and 2300mAh battery. Both phones run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
With LG not seeing a lot of momentum in the high-end segment, the focus is now firmly on the budget and mid-range segments. However, phones like the Redmi Note 3 offer more bang for the buck and are priced more conservatively. Even Samsung’s Galaxy J3 2016 is a better alternative to the likes of the K7, with the device offering a 720p display and a larger 2600mAh battery for ₹8,999.
