Unlimited Netflix without using up any monthly data?! Yes please!

T-Mobile’s Binge On service is a way for you to stream your favorite video services on the go. They offer optimized streaming when video is detected so that you’re not waiting for video to buffer. It does so by lowering the resolution of HD videos to DVD quality.

The services supported by Binge On stream in 480p (DVD quality) which doesn’t exactly live up to what AMOLED displays can produce (at all). However, streaming via Binge On doesn’t eat up any of your monthly data, so there’ll be no terrible overages when you binge watch all four seasons of House of Cards to catch up.

How can I get Binge On?

So long as your data plan is for 3GB or more, Binge On is available to you for free on T-Mobile phones and comes fully-enabled.

Anything I should watch out for?

You betcha. If you’re not psyched about your video streaming in 480p, you can always go and change it within the streaming service’s settings, but watch out – your stream will return to high speed and you’ll be consuming data as though Binge On was disabled, meaning you’ll be eating into your monthly LTE allowance.
