Countries all over the world, especially those that claim to be democratic (when in fact we all know that they are not really), plan to introduce various control mechanisms to increase their control over the content that is published and shared on the Internet.

This ranges from pressuring Internet companies like Facebook into removing content that is unwanted or undesirable, to enforcing rules like blocking all adult content by default for all citizens of a country.

Cleanternet is satirical website that tries to educate Europeans (and users from other parts of the world) about the latest European Internet blocking plans.

Cleanternet is a campaign to support European Commissioner Cecilia Malmström in her plans to introduce a website blocking system in Europe. All European countries must be forced to fight for a cleaner and safer Internet.

A video was created and uploaded to YouTube to illustrate the absurdity of the plans.

Enjoy the video and make sure you pass it along.

Cleanternet is a political satirical Video that explains why installing a filter system to block child pornography documentations of child abuse is a very bad idea and will even help criminals and paedophiles while it penalizes victims at the same time.

Interested Internet users should check out the links section on the Cleanternet website, as they point to websites and discussions surrounding the initiative by the European Union.

The European Union plans to block child pornography sites, and the video makes a valid observation that it would make more sense to delete the sites instead.

Interestingly enough, the majority of sites that would fall under the blocking rule are hosting in countries like the US or European countries. This means that it would not be difficult to get them removed from the Internet instead of just blocked as proposed by the European Union.
