In a press event in New Delhi today, Lenovo announced the K4 Note, the latest addition to its VIBE series. The phone is a successor to the very popular K3 Note, which set a benchmark in the sub-₹10,000 phablet segment in India by offering a Full HD display.
The K4 Note features a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and features a curved design at 9.1 mm thickness, with the thinnest edge at 3.8mm. It also packs NFC and a fingerprint scanner.
K4 Note is the first smartphone to deliver Dolby Atmos experience over speakers, not just headphones. In partnership with Skullcandy, Lenovo has also introduced the Lenovo Skullcandy Ando headphones which sport an in-the-ear canalphone design with built-in microphone and remote, which will be sold separately for ₹1,299.
In an interesting move, Lenovo has partnered with ANT VR, a Kickstarter company, to offer a virtual reality headset for a theatre-like experience, dubbed TheatreMax, tailored for the K4 Note. The headset is available for ₹1,299.

The Lenovo K4 Note will be available exclusively on Amazon.in at ₹11,999 ($180), although the first flash sale on January 19 (registrations kick off at 3PM today) will be for the K4 Note VR bundle priced at ₹12,499. Lenovo will also introduce leather covers and premium wood covers in five different wood designs for the K4 Note, although they’ll be available at a later date.
The Lenovo K4 Note looks pretty good on paper, except that it ships with Android 5.1, and judging from the success of K3 Note, should find a lot of takers. What are your thoughts on the K4 Note? Would you be looking to pick one up?
