Following its move on iOS, Adobe has finally made Lightroom free to all Android users, allowing them to edit their pictures on the go without having to pay. Previously, in order to use Lightroom on Android, you needed to be a paying Adobe Creative Cloud member to log into the app, but with version 1.4 that is no longer the case. Adobe will now let Android users edit, crop, transform and do more to their images without any charge.
The ability to use Lightroom for mobile without a paid subscription means that anyone can take advantage of the organizational, editing, and sharing abilities that Lightroom for mobile offers. Signing up for a free trial or logging in with a Creative Cloud subscription adds the ability to synchronize files and edits with Lightroom on a desktop or laptop, as well as with Lightroom Web.
While Lightroom is free to use on Android now, if you want the sync between your PC and mobile apps, you’ll still need a subscription. You can sign up for a free trial to see if the sync is something you need, if not, you can continue using the Android app at no monthly cost.
