Amazon has announced that its latest Fire Tablet, which is the most affordable one from the company yet, is now available in China. In addition to bringing the tablet to China, Amazon is announcing a new agreement with Baidu to bring search, apps and online video experience to customers.

China already has a large number of Kindle users, so the move to bring the Fire Tablet was a natural one. Neil Lindsay, Vice President of Amazon devices said:

“We’ve already sold millions of Fire tablets since launch, and we’re excited to now make it available to customers in China. With millions of readers already using Kindle e-readers in China, we’re excited to now offer another incredibly affordable option, particularly for customers learning to read English. With tools and features like Word Wise and Blue Shade, plus a large selection of Chinese and English content, we think readers will love the new Fire tablet.”

Amazon will be selling the tablet for ¥499 in China, and it is available now to order.
