LG brings a Ray of light to emerging markets

LG Ray is now official, becoming the latest entry-level offering from the South Korean manufacturer. The phone will be available in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region later this week, followed by Latin America. LG is targeting 3G markets with the handset, which comes with a brushed-metal finish at the back along with rear-mounted volume and power buttons.

The LG Ray features a 5.5-inch 720p display, 1.4GHz octa-core processor, 13MP camera at the back, 8MP front shooter, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot, 3G connectivity, and a 3,000mAh battery. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

LG mentions that it will offer the Ray in Silver, Gold and Titan Black color options, with the latter two variants available from January. No info on pricing, which will be furnished at the time of launch.

Gesture Shot, LG’s exclusive UX inherited from its G Series, delivers an easier way to take selfies and LG Ray also features a removable battery with a capacity of 3,000mAh for longer usage time between charges.
