When you right-click an item in Windows you get lots of options to choose from. You may select the edit option to open the file in the default editor, use file operations such as rename or delete, print it, open it in the default viewer, or select another program to open the file with using the Open With menu that is displayed in the context menu as well.

Open With comes in handy if you need to open a file in a program that is not the default one since you can open it using the default application either by double-clicking on it or selecting edit from the context menu.

To disable an entry select it with the mouse and right-click afterwards. There you find the option to disable it to block it from being listed in the Open With menu. You may also use the shortcut F8 to disable entries and F7 to enable them if you prefer to use the keyboard.

The software is another high quality NirSoft application which does not require installation and works with Windows XP, 2003 Server and Windows Vista.

Update: Open With is compatible with all recent versions of Windows as well. We have tested it under a 64-bit version of Windows 10 recently and it worked fine. It may become unresponsive for a moment after start but will recover and display the entries in its interface.
