ZTE teams up with Professor Green for Facebook video contest

As part of its continuing promotional deal with British rapper Professor Green, Chinese phone-maker ZTE is launching a new Facebook video contest, where fans have the chance to win £1000 in cash and a new ZTE Grand X handset. The winner will also get a two-day “filming experience” with the good Professor, and close pal and cameraman Rufus Exton.

Fans are challenged with producing a 20-second ad for the Grand X, incorporating a Professor Green track, the phone itself, and its slogan — “a world of entertainment in your hands.” ZTE is partnering with online creative collaboration Talenthouse for the competition, which it recommends to “film-makers, video editors, motion graphic designers and anyone keen to break into TV/ film production.”

ZTE UK launches a Facebook video production competition with rapper Professor Green

31 July 2012, London, UK – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications network equipment and mobile devices, has launched a video production competition on Facebook in partnership with the ambassador for ZTE’s Grand X handset, British rapper Professor Green and online creative community Talenthouse.

Film-makers, video editors, motion graphic designers and anyone keen to break into TV/ film production are invited to create a 20 second promotional ad for the ZTE Grand X smartphone using a specific Professor Green track as the sound-bed and featuring the Grand X ‘end-slate’. The ad should capture ZTE’s slogan for the Grand X – A World of Entertainment In Your Hands.

The winning prize is a two day filming experience with renowned film-maker and Professor Green’s close friend and official cameraman Rufus Exton, £1,000 in cash and a ZTE Grand X handset.

Entrants will have access to a range of video and still image assets and will be encouraged to incorporate their own original HD material and must upload their video to ZTE’s Facebook page.

The winning ad, as selected by Professor Green, Rufus Exton and ZTE using the social votes as a guide, will be shown across Professor Green’s/ ZTEs official channels. The winner will also have their ad featured across ZTE and Professor Green official channels including websites, You Tube, Twitter and Facebook pages.

ZTE wants to encourage talent at a grass roots level and this competition gives talented individuals the chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity, working with Professor Green and his creative team.
