Back at IFA, Samsung unveiled the second-generation SmartThings smart home automation hub, and it is now available for purchase. The Samsung SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit is now available from a variety of retailers for $249. Included in the kit is:
- The new SmartThings Hub to connect smart sensors, lights, locks, cameras, and more
- Two Multipurpose Sensors to monitor whether doors, windows, cabinets, or your garage are open or closed
- One Motion Sensor to monitor movement in your home
- One Outlet to control lights, electronics, and small appliances
You will need to download the free SmartThings app from Google Play to get started with the set up. Amazon, Sears, Samsung and Best Buy will all be selling the kit through their online channels, and it will also be available in-store at Best Buy.
