OnePlus wants to sell more of its smartphones, like the OnePlus 2, in India and today it announced plans to start making some of its phones in that country. The smartphones will be built at the Foxconn Rising Stars factory in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

NDTV stated:

Local production of OnePlus’ upcoming devices will start before end of this year at the 30,000 square feet facility, which will have a cumulative peak production capacity of 500,000 units per month, and generate direct employment for over 1,000 full-time workers, the company said, adding the first batch of locally-produced phones would be made available before the end of the year.

The deal should allow OnePlus products to go on sale faster in India compared to previous releases of their smartphones, according to company executives.
