Same design with improved internals and display mark a significant improvement on the original

Mobile World Congress

Lenovo announced a new and improved Yoga Tablet at Mobile World Congress and we got chance to take a very quick first look at it. At first glance the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is the same tablet as the original. It has the same design, the same fold out kickstand, camera placement, front facing speakers, everything. But, arguably this is the tablet the original should have been.

The 1920×1200 resolution display is far better than the originals 1280×800 panel, which for a tablet we recommend for heavy media consumers improves the experience greatly. The internals have been bumped too, with a Snapdragon 400 inside now instead of the MediaTek CPU in the original and USB OTG support has also been added. We’ve got Android 4.3 on board, and an 8MP camera round back that sadly is still in the same awkward location as its predecessor.

Lenovo also showed us a new keyboard case accessory that acts like a smart cover. It clips to the front of the tablet enabling sleep mode, allows the tablet to clip into it and unlike previous efforts in the space this time round Lenovo has equipped it with a standard microUSB charging port.

The Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ will go on sale in April at a price point starting at $349. Oh, and it also comes in Champagne Gold this time around, too.
