What do you get when you cross A Nintendo gun, Flappy Bird, an HDMI cable and a group of young engineers? Flappy Zapping, that’s what.

Flappy Bird will never die. It’s now one of those silly viral things that will pop up here and there for the next few years, until a new silly viral thing (that will never die) comes to replace it. But I think Eliezer Alvarez and his mechatronic engineer friends have the best Flappy Birds news ever.

Samsung is holding a Launching People contest in Latin America, where gifted young developers and engineers use their minds and some magic to try and build something so cool it will win the competition. Alvarez and his group have built something with what may be an unbeatable combo — Flappy Birds, and an NES Zapper gun. The video below explains it, even if you don’t speak Spanish. Hook your Galaxy phone up to a big screen, and point that glorious gun from your childhood at Flappy Bird and kill him. Dead. Oh-so-satisfyingly-unflappable. In the best cartoon-violence PG-13 way ever.

I want to see Alvarez and company win. You also want to see them win. Flappy Birds must be shot. Head to their Facebook page and vote for these awesome Flappy Zapping young folks.
