Moto X desktop dock

Docks should ship the week of September 9, Motorola tells us

The desktop dock and the vehicle dock for the Moto X we told you about last week are now “officially” available from Motorola from their online store, and are shipping now. Update: We ordered one of each, and Motorola customer service got back to us a couple hours later to say there was a slight mix-up on the store side, and that the docks won’t actually ship until the week of September 9.

The docks are manufactured by Griffin, and each sell for $39.95.

The desktop dock is set up to hold your phone at a comfortable viewing angle while on your desk (hence the name), and has a micro USB connector pass through to provide power. It is designed to accommodate phones in a case up to 2mm thick.

The vehicle dock has your basic suction-cup design to affix it to your windshield or dash, and the grip plate will hold “all but the bulkiest cases” in it’s adjustable frame and arm. Motorola’s driving mode on the Moto X is enabled when the phone is placed in the dock, and all the hands-free features will work as advertised.

We’ll have a good look at both accessories as soon as they arrive, in the meantime you can have a look at the links below to learn more.
