Set Different Wallpapers On Multiple Monitors In Windows 10 The Easy Way

Only recently coming into the world of dual displays, I was overwhelmed by the complexity of setting different wallpapers on multiple desktops in Windows 10 when I searched on Google. Here is a easy way to do it without going through the registry editor or directory!

As I mentioned earlier, Google was of no help when I wanted to live out the dream of setting up different wallpapers on my dual monitor setup.

There was a point where I was about to throw in the towel until I stumbled upon a one step solution to doing it effortlessly!

While we did cover how to give your virtual desktops their own wallpaper, here is a simple step by step guide on setting the wallpapers of your choice to give your multi-monitor setup a touch of ingenuity.

Proof of concept.

The black space on my first screen is because I have a laptop (1366 x 768) connected to a a Samsung LED Monitor (1920×1080).

Steps to quickly select different wallpapers for different monitors

STEP 1:

Right click on your desktop and click on Personalize.

When you have the new window open, click on Browse and navigate to the images you want to set as your desktop. Select them and they will appear in your carousel.

How to set a different wallpaper on your monitor setup.

STEP 2:

Right click on the images on the carousel and simply choose which image you want to set on Monitor 1 and / or 2.

Setting the wallpaper on multiple desktops.

This is a simple case of trial and error by setting the image and then checking which is where with the help of CTRL + D.

Otherwise if you know how to identify Display 1 and 2 using the display settings from the context menu, you can do it on the first try!

This is a simple and relatively easier technique as opposed to those that are currently on the Internet which involve messing with the registry and directories in C:.
