While scouring through the Control Panel, I came across some of the different things we can make our PC do when we close lid. So, I thought to myself why not share this with our users.

In the wide array of features Windows 10 offers us, a lot of them simply sometimes do not make sense. For example, Why would you want to disable shadows behind active windows or even disable Start Menu’s color while retaining the color of the Taskbar? You might not know the logic behind it but Microsoft intends to please all of it’s people.

The world has 7 billion people. This means 7 billion different ways of looking at a particular thing. I do not know exactly how many people use Windows but I’m sure they must be in hundreds of millions. Microsoft obviously wants to honor each and everyone’s unique taste of the way they use their computer. Hence, something that might seem absurd to us might be appealing to someone else. We at Windows Clan, are in full agreement with this.

To honor our readers, we feel it is our duty to cover even the most tiniest of Windows’ aspects. In pursuit of that, today is the turn of choosing what happens when you close lid of your laptop. Closing your laptop’s lid is something that happens all day long. By default, Windows puts your computer to a cozy sleep but if you feel like it’s too big of a lazy donkey, you can force it to do something else by following the steps below.

Step 1: Open Control Panel.

Step 2: Click on System and Security.

Step 3: From the list of options on the left, click on choose what closing the lid does.

Step 4: Click on the tab in front of When I close the lid.

Step 5: From the drop down menu, select what you would like your PC to do as shown in the image below. Allow if prompted for UAC.

That’s it. Close the Control Panel and let the cruelty begin!
