2016 has officially started, and many people want to begin a new year by taking better care of themselves. In this week’s content update for the Amazon Echo connected speaker, one of its new skills will allow owners to get moving in the morning, or whenever they want to work out.
The new skill is enabled just by saying, “Alexa, start 7-Minute Workout.” The third-party skill then launches into a series of exercises “designed to increase metabolism, improve energy, lower stress, and remove fat.”
Another new command is “Alexa, Ask Fidelity”. This new skill can let users securities information by symbol or company name. So if you say, “Alexa, Ask Fidelity how Amazon is doing,” you should get the latest financial info on the Echo’s parent company.
The Echo speaker can also respond back to questions about when the next Republican or Democratic U.S. Presidential debate will happen. Finally, you might want to say, “Alexa, what is your New Year’s resolution?” to get a surprise message.
