Intex, one of India’s largest smartphone makers, has announced its latest premium smartphone, the Aqua GenX.
The 4G smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Dragontrail glass protection and sports a metallic unibody design. Powered by a 1.3GHz Mediatek octa-core processor with 2GB RAM, the device packs in 16GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Aqua GenX features a hybrid SIM slot, so if you use a microSD card, you can only use one SIM instead of the dual SIM functionality.
The Aqua GenX packs in 13MP rear camera with Samsung sensor and LED Flash and a 5MP front camera. The camera comes with a host of features like gesture capture by doing the Victory symbol, HDR, PIP mode, live photo mode, motion tracker, capture while recording, voice capture, Panorama, multi-angle view, and anti-shake.
The Aqua GenX includes a Q-Key on the right side which allows you to set a shortcut for any feature you’d want to open by directly pressing the key. Also, the smartphone includes a “Matrabhasha” service that enables communication in 21 regional languages, including Hindi.

In a recent IDC report, Intex toppled Micromax to become the second largest player in the overall handset market in India with 11.8% market share, and is continuing its foray in the INR 10K-15K segment. The Intex Aqua GenX is available in two colors – Silver and Champagne – for a price of ₹13,299 ($200).
