The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just recently been announced, and we’re already showing signs of life on T-Mobile U.S.A. This screenshot shows a device model T889, which, after a bit of deduction and cross-referencing with UAProf data, suggests that it’s the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2. the source of the screenshot says that T-Mobile’s version will be keeping the Exynos quad-core 1.6 GHz processor, and tap into their 42 Mbps HSPA+ network. We’re expecting this bad boy to launch in mid-October in Europe, but there’s still no indication as to when we’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on this side of the pond.

What’s all the fuss about? Well, here’s a reminder of the Galaxy Note 2’s specs.

  • Network: 3G: HSPA+ 21Mbps (HSDPA 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps); 4G LTE: 100Mbps/ 50Mbps
  • Processor: 1.6 GHz quad-core processor
  • Display: 5.5” HD Super AMOLED (1,280 x 720)
  • OS: Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • Camera: Main (Rear): 8 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, BSI; Sub(Front): 1.9 Megapixel VT Camera, BSI; Best Photo, Best Faces, Low light shot

Be sure to check out our hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from IFA for a closer look. It is definitely a sweet-looking device. Hopefully we’ll get some indications of a launch on other U.S. carriers soon. Any T-Mobile customers considering holding out for this one, assuming it lands before the holidays? Maybe give that new unlimited data plan a shot?
