Samsung offering $4.08 million in prizes to developers in their Smart App Challenge

Samsung is looking for new and innovative applications in the Android ecosystem in its Smart App Challenge competition. The company is specifically searching for apps that take advantage of the features of two of its main products: the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Tab. In the Note’s case in particular, Samsung is trying to find developers who have come up with creative ways of incorporating the S Pen into their apps.

There is a total of $4.08 million in cash prizes available with this amount being divided amongst 80 winners. There are a variety of categories you can win in, including the aforementioned ‘best use of S Pen’ and ‘best game’. Not only would winners receive the cash prizes. but also substantial marketing from Samsung.

MSUNG LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR INNOVATIVE APP DEVELOPERS WITH SAMSUNG SMART APP CHALLENGE 2012

9th July 2012, London, UK – Samsung is calling on all app developers to rise to the challenge of creating an innovative smart app for the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab with incredible prizes on offer for winners.

The worldwide Samsung Smart App Challenge 2012 offers a total prize fund of $4.08 million in cash prizes to winning app developers as well as marketing support to promote the most innovative apps chosen throughout the content period.
The total prize fund will be divided amongst 80 winning apps in a variety of categories, including best game and best use of the Samsung S Pen in app development. The S Pen is an advanced pen-input technology used on the Samsung Galaxy Note, making it easy to create and consume more content whilst on the go.
All developers need to do to take part is register on the dedicated web site www.smartappchallenge.com and, once developed, make their app available for download on the Samsung app store. Winners are judged by number of downloads, and for the S Pen category, put to a panel of specialist judges who will select the winners.
