With the announcement of the new Chromecast and Chromecast Audio hardware, Google announced that Spotify is the newest headline partner for Chromecast. An update will start rolling out today to bring the music service to the streaming device, with all users expected to get Spotify support in the next few weeks.
Spotify will support the new Chromecast TV and Audio hardware. Additionally, Spotify will be able to recognize when other devices are using it on the Chromecast network, and pick up in the same spot in their playlist for a shared music experience.
