Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy ride was open to the public for the first time ever this weekend — and the public was very excited about it. Lines for the ride were more than five hours long, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with some on social media saying the wait time climbed to seven hours at certain points throughout the day.

The ride, called Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!, opened on Saturday, and photos posted on Twitter show huge lines twisting around the park. According to THR, Mission Breakout is a multi-part experience that includes six escape scenarios, which have become increasingly popular in recent years. The ride replaced the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

This year’s Guardians of the Galaxy sequel also had a big opening weekend, reportedly drawing about $150 million at the box office. Even if the movie itself felt like a bit of a sophomore slump, that clearly wasn’t enough to shrink fans’ excitement for it.

Hardcore fans have shown their willingness to wait in miles-long lines time and time again: during Comic Con, for clothing drops, and now, for amusement park rides. Pandora: The World of Avatar also opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this weekend. Lines for that ride were reportedly two to four hours long.
