App will remember your view choice, brings back the notification bar on Droids

When Motorola pulled its Gallery app out into the Play Store, we knew that it would mean frequent updates would be coming. The first big update since its release is today, and it brings fixes for a few different issues and a new feature for viewing your photos. There are two main fixes — the app will now remember if you prefer the “album” view for your photos when you re-enter the app, and the notification bar will no longer be constantly hidden on Droid devices (in fact, Immersive Mode still isn’t an option at all).

On the new feature side, there’s now a new “timeline” view for showing off your photos — access the new view by grabbing the blue scroll bar and sliding in either direction through the history of photos. The app is of course still only available for the Moto X, Moto G and newest line of Droids, and you’ll need Android 4.4, but if you check those boxes you can grab the latest update to the app at the Play Store link above.
