It looks like Samsung Pay is set to add support for online shopping at some point in 2016 in the U.S., according to a new report. The report hails from Reuters, which says that Samsung’s mobile payments effort will begin accepting online payments for U.S. users in 2016, bringing it further in-line with competitors like Android Pay and Apple Pay. It’s unclear if support would be limited to in-app payments or if Samsung is planning something more expansive.
In addition to online payment support, the report also mentions that Samsung Pay will be coming to lower-priced Samsung phones “within the next year,” according to a statement by Samsung’s global co-general manager of Samsung Pay, Thomas Ko.
