Chromecast

During today’s Google Nexus press event, the company showed off a new Chromecast feature that will allow smartphone games to be streamed to big screen televisions via the HDMI dongle.

Using the racing game Angry Birds GO as an example, Google showed how an iPhone can connect to a Chromecast to stream the game to a TV, and use the smartphone itself as a controller. The feature will work on both Android and iPhone games such as WGT Golf and Monopoly Here & Now. That game will also support multiplayer, which will allow up to four gamers to play on one TV with a Chromecast at the same time.

Support for Chromecast Game Casting will be rolled out over the next few months. Stay tuned for more information from Google’s Nexus press event.
