HTC has just confirmed that it’ll launch its next hero smartphone — expected to be the rumored HTC One A9 — on October 20.

As shown in the invite above, the action gets underway at noon ET at a virtual launch event that’ll be livestreamed on HTC’s website.
If recent pre-release rumors are to be believed, the HTC One A9 will bring mid-level specs into a premium (and yes, slightly iPhone-like) chassis. While it doesn’t look like a replacement for the M9, or a super-high-end phone, it could be what HTC needs to put up a fight in the competitive mid-range space.
