Alongside the announcement of the Nexus 6P and 5X, Google announced that several of its previous Nexus devices will be getting an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow starting next week.
The Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9 and Player are all getting the update to the latest version of Android. We didn’t get a specific day or rollout schedule, but we’ll surely have an indication of that in the next few days when the OTA starts.
