Here are all the details on the Nexus 6P camera

Google has put a lot of focus on the camera of the Nexus 6P and the improvements that were made to bring the best camera possible to the new Nexus smartphone. Featuring a 12.3MP Sony sensor on the rear with 1.55 micron pixels, the Nexus 6P also sports an 8MP front facing camera with HDR+ built in (the Nexus 5X is 5MP). Compared to the Nexus 6, the camera on the Nexus 6P has 4x the amount of sensor pixels, a huge improvement. Both rear cameras sit behind a wide ƒ/2.0 lens.

The camera also features laser autofocus with “time of flight IR sensor”, 240fps slow motion video, and Google Photos editing will let you slow down parts of a video instead of the whole thing if you want. Smart Burst will capture images at 30fps, which will allow you to create gifs with ease, and it will auto-select the best image to show.

As for OIS, you won’t find that in the camera here, though Google says that the camera set up does not require it to take stunning pictures and videos due to the much larger pixels and sensor size. Knowing that people want quick access to the camera, simply double tapping the power button on the Nexus 6P will take you right into the camera.
